Incorrect behavior on Firefox

Reaching a webpage with a sign-in form while on firefox, and WHILE I am already signed-in to my local Vault, a message comes up telling me to sign-in to Identify Safe.

Re: Incorrect behavior on Firefox

The FF extension has no way to access a local vault. It is Online only.

As a matter of fact, if you were using an online vault from IE or Chrome, the FF extension is not able to recognize that the vault is open, and you have to open it again. Hopefully this will be addressed in upcoming updates.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Incorrect behavior on Firefox

I am using firefox 47.0.1. While I undertand the identiy safe is on recognized online by firefox, when I go to a page that requires a login the norton identity vault is displayed in the login box right hand side. Clicking on it does not complete the password entry. Nothing happens. How is the identity vault to work using firefox?

New Norton Identity Safe Feature/extension supports Firefox 48+ for Online vault and requires Sign In to Norton account + vault password. Similar to https://identitysafe.norton.com/.

Current Firefox = 49.0.1 >  Check you're running current Firefox.
If Firefox reports "up-to-date". See > https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Re: Incorrect behavior on Firefox

So if I understand correctly, I have to download password manager and online identity safe from here: https://identitysafe.norton.com/vaultLogin# and then upload my passwords to the cloud. Is that correct?  Thank you.

Do you want to run Norton Identity Safe Online vault in Firefox.
Do you have a Norton Identity Safe Online vault.
Norton Identity Safe Feature/extension is compatible with Mozilla Firefox 48 and later.

"Do you want to run Norton Identity Safe Online vault in Firefox. "

Isn't the only option I have for firefox? I upgraded to 49.0.1

" Do you have a Norton Identity Safe Online vault. "

Not yet I would have to set one up. Is an online vault safer than one on  your pc?

1) Yes, Norton Identity Safe Online vault is offered Feature in Firefox.
Please note – this extension only provides partial support for Vault Logins. This extension will fill and capture Logins, but does not support viewing or editing Logins. We are evaluating future plans for Login support as well as additional Vault items like Addresses, Wallet, Notes, and Favorites.
2) Safer from..?   Online offers database access convenience.
Where you store your logins database is less an issue vs how you use your logins database.

How does Symantec protect my Vault data?

At Symantec, we consider your Vault security seriously. Your Vault data is encrypted by the client prior to storing it on the online Vault. Encryption is performed with the AES encryption algorithm, which is the leading industry standard for strong encryption. For example, when a login is saved in Identity Safe website, the username, password, and other details are encrypted. Encryption occurs before this data is ever transmitted to the server. It transforms the readable login data (plaintext) to unreadable format (ciphertext). So, no one can get to know your Vault data. The data can be transformed back to readable format only with the correct encryption key, which only you have. Also, your Vault password is never stored anywhere. All communication between the client and the Symantec server uses SSL, a cryptographic protocol, for encryption and validation.

Is it safe to access my Vault data from my office computer, an Internet Café computer, or my mobile?

As communications between your device (PC or mobile) and Symantec's servers are encrypted using industry standard SSL/HTTPS, you generally need only consider the security of the device from which you're accessing your Vault data. We recommend that you only access your Vault data from a device that you trust to be secure.

Can other users access my Vault data?

No. Your Vault can only be accessed by someone who knows both your Norton account password and your online Vault password. Symantec does not store your Vault password, so not even Symantec employees can access your Vault data.

Did you have a vault you were using before getting the new FF extension? That should still work.

when I go to a page that requires a login the norton identity vault is displayed in the login box right hand side. Clicking on it does not complete the password entry. Nothing happens. How is the identity vault to work using firefox?

Do you get to enter your password? Or are you just not taken to a new tab to enter your password? If you are not offered the password entry tab, do you use AdBlock Plus, or No Script? Either of these could be causing your issue of not being able to log into the vault.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
