Install Windows 11

I emailed a link to install one of my spare licenses to another laptop.  The link sends me to norton but if I try to download it I'm sent to the Microsoft store ... and well it goes around and around never installing anything

Re: Install Windows 11

If you have Windows in S Mode, you cannot install the regular Norton 360. You need to install Norton UWP app from the Windows store. That sounds why you are being directed to the Windows Store. See this Norton Product Announcement.   https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-service-announcements/nort...

Here is a Microsoft Support article on S mode.   https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-and-windows-11-in...

Thank you.  If I am reading the article correctly, more money needs to be spent.  Taking it out of S mode, I hope will allow one of my licenses to be installed.

Re: Install Windows 11

There is no more money involved. Your 360 subscription will cover installing the UWP app on a Windows S mode device.

From the Microsoft article note that if you do decide to take your Windows out of S mode, there is no way to go back. So be sure you do not want the features offered by the S mode.

a couple other issues;  Sorry.  It did install in S mode as you said.  However It appears that I need to turn norton on manually? It is not listed in the apps that I can select to autostart.?  And the icon when started is Black instead of the normal Yellow, and is shaped like a mccafee icon?  Not sure if something was done wrong.  It did use one of my licenses which I'm glad.

Re: Install Windows 11

The Norton interface does not need to be running for the protection to work. All the protection features work in the background, so no need for the interface to autostart.

As long as when in the Microsoft Store app you searched for and installed Norton Security Protection, you have the correct app. This app does not seem to get updated as often as the main 360 app, so that could explain the older, black icon.
