Is this IP part of Symantec/ or Norton?

Earlier It was allowed to come through my firewall (port 3)

it was showing as symantec.com

now when I look at the same log entry from earlier, it just shows as  206.57.28.59

when I look that up, it doesn't say symantec or Norton, but global crossing

Re: Is this IP part of Symantec/ or Norton?

As I'm slightly begining to undertand a little about the internet, I'm wondering if this IP address I noted above is part of the server set up? to route Norton stuff? You know like when they use akami servers? Is that making sense?

Re: Is this IP part of Symantec/ or Norton?

I have not looked at Flo's link yet

But I did a littel experiment. I went to www.symantec.com

When I look in my internet connection logs, I see an entry for symantec.com  but when I check the IP address it is

206.132.122.67

when I check that IP address using ARIN WHOIS, again it says global crossing, even though it took me to the symantec site at another time the connection log says symantec.com but the IP is 204.2.215.33 which is

NTT America

so my guess is that these are servers that connect one to symantec.com?????
