Irritating Popups

Are you as irritated as I am by the constant popup messages from Norton advising one to use Passport Manager or take up an offer on Norton 360?

If I wanted to use Passport Manager I would have done so. If I wanted to subscribe to the offer on 360 I would have done so.

So please stop badgering me with these popups.

Give me an option to turn off these irritating popups before I start subcribing to a different anit-virus service.

Re: Irritating Popups

You can disable "special offer" popups, going to Norton Options --> Administrative Options and turning off "Special Offer Notification";

You can disable "web extension" popups, clicking on "don't ask me again".

Re: Irritating Popups

Hi Paolo,

Thanks for your response.

I have turned off "Special Offer Notifications" as you suggest. Ideally, however, I would like to receive the Special Offer Notifications but have the option to click on a "Don't ask me again" button if I am not interested.  In the past the Special Offer Notifications had this "Don't ask me again" option but that is no longer the case.

I have the same problem with the web extension options.  In the past there was a "don't ask me again" button to turn off the option but again this option has been discontinued.  I am using Firefox so I wonder is the issue specific to Firefox.

Re: Irritating Popups

What I find most amusing is it keeps giving me an offer to upgrade to Norton 360 for the remainder of my subscription..... it IS Norton 360 already.

Thank you Paolo_Pichierri I have disabled it in the settings now so hopefully, I won't see it again :)

Did you already get the new 360 product? If you are using the older 360 product from years ago, this is a completely new product line with additional features like the VPN, Safe Cam feature, and Dark Web monitoring, and increased online storage for the backup feature.   See   https://us.norton.com/products/norton-360-standard    and scroll down to compare the different 360 versions.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Irritating Popups

Yes, it's definitely the new one, I upgraded from internet security recently for free :)

Which is what made me smile at getting a popup offering me a free upgrade heh, when I clicked on the link 'just to see what would happen' it gave me some message about how the offer was no longer valid or unavailable or something.  It seems to be sorted now though having followed Paolo_Pichierri advice :)

It is a good product though so I can't really complain too much, it just surprised and amused me mostly.
