Issue Found under device manager

Hi, my Norton 360 was not working (not coming up after I clicked it).  I had to erase it, and reinstall it- this happens a few times/year.  Anyway, it was running well, and did live updates fine, full and quick scan fine.  Anyway, I went online on norton's website to check my account.  When I clicked the graph at the top of the screen and went into device manager, it said that my Mac had a "issue found" The pic was a computer with a "!" in it.  I told the support rep, and they did a reinstall, and came up with the same thing.  My problem was bumped up to the tier 2 support person, and I am waiting for a call back.

It this just a Norton 360 software glitch?  Did anyone experience this before?

Re: Issue Found under device manager

A very knowledgeable person called back from Norton.  If Norton is running correctly, and has no issues with it, it is fine.  It is showing up on this webpage "issue found"- it may be from a software glitch, or from my slow computer.  I have to reinstall Norton here and there- that is normal. I think I need some new computers!!!!

Re: Issue Found under device manager

I have the same problem with my Norton 360.  When I click on my system on the web page, it attempts to connect to my MacOS in order to resolve my issue but nothing (other than the "progress" indicator spinning) happens.  I installed Norton 360 initially on this system and it worked happily but has not worked for the past year or so.

Also, when I attempt to start Norton 360, the Norton Icon appears  and bounces a couple of times but then stops. Nothing else happens.

I have 10.15.7 and the hardware is an iMac (27-inch Late 2013).

I have removed and then re-installed Norton 360 on this system but it has not resolved the issue.

Do staff from Norton look at these forums?

Looking for a solution other than "you need a new computer".

Re: Issue Found under device manager

After a little more searching I came upon this, which allowed me to properly re-install Norton 360.  It now runs correctly.

However I still get the "Issue Found" when I log into the Norton Website.

Re: Issue Found under device manager

Hi GrphcDsgn, So the device security doesn't work very well with the communication between my.norton.com and Norton on your device. This is a known problem. The best way to make this communication work would be to install through my.norton.com device security. But even then I would not trust it. On my windows PC I sometimes see that I am offline when I am actually looking at my.norton.com with that PC... The best way to be 100% sure that a device is protected is to check if you are signed in on that device and if all is running well. As for that other thread, I find the comments very very funny, a lot of people state that the message that RMAC wont open comes up when you double click to open. If you right click and press open in the menu it works 100%. But the fault is never the consumers, its always the product ;) Anyway im happy you got it all installed in the end
