Issues with Uplay - Ubisoft Game Launcher

I have been using Steam for quite some time and have been playing games on it for several years.  3 of the games I have been playing forever, just generated a Norton Popup that asked if I trusted Uplay. I entered that it could be trusted.  It popped up several times after this and now I cannot play any of these games that I have purchased.  Ubisoft Tech Support suggested that I Port Forward through my router which I have done but for some reason Norton shows that the ports are closed.  I have disabled the firewall, Norton Security and I still cannot play these games.  It seems it's a Norton issue from what Ubisoft Tech Support suggested and what my ISP suggested. I have marked that all of Uplay should be trusted but still cannot get anything to go through since Norton is blocking it.  How do I get a port to open and how do I get Norton to stop blocking this?  I have Windows 10 and am using a Belkin Router.

Re: Issues with Uplay - Ubisoft Game Launcher

Hello

If you have disabled the Firewall, most likely Norton is not the problem. You can try disabling Auto Protect for the shortest time you can have. Try playing then. Don't leave it off because it is leaving your computer unprotected. if that doesn't help, then it definitely isn't a Norton problem. Steam has been having a lot of issues lately.

Since you have Win 10, you can try disabling Fast StartUp.

Thanks.

Re: Issues with Uplay - Ubisoft Game Launcher

I keep getting a pop up from Norton stating that Uplay or the game I am trying to launch doesn't have a valid signature or the certificate is expired.  I keep telling Norton to allow it but it doesn't.

Hello

I think this has to do with Windows certificates that are issued for every file or program I think it is. I remember sometimes getting Windows Updates about Root Certificates. Perhaps this link may help although it's not a strictly a Norton issue.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/drivers/install/trusted-root-certification-authorities-certificate-store  This might have something to do with it. Moat likely, their certificates have to be renewed. It's something I think either steam or the  maker of the game takes care of. I think it's your browser which checks the certificates.

Thanks.
