Issues with vault password and Norton Login Password

For the last few days I have had issues with my Norton Login telling me I had either the userid or password wrong and I have changed it multiple times.  But still when I go back to the login page the same thing happens.  I definably had written the new password down to what I changed it to so that is not the issue.

Then when I’ve tried to go to my Android phone and reset my password through the app, the instructions I found and what it suggest are not complete from what I saw.  I definably do not want to delete my login database.  That would be something that I would call a last resort.  I’ve been in I.T. all my life as a Systems Analyst for Fortune 500 companies and in no way whatsoever would anyone accept that they would lose everything and start over.  At the least they should be able ato restore from the latest backup, but complete deletion… No acceptable.

Re: Issues with vault password and Norton Login Password

There have been some temporary server issues that affected logging into Norton Password Manager.

Clearing the vault contents when trying to recover a lost vault password is a security feature to protect your valuable logins from hacking. As long as you have a backup of your vault contents you can safely delete the old vault, and import the contents to the new vault.

Are you able to log into your Norton Account at   https://my.norton.com ?

Re: Issues with vault password and Norton Login Password

I have the same issue. Since I started using NPM earlier this year, I never had to log in to the Norton web site AND log in to the app. I downloaded an update yesterday and now I do have to log in to both - what a pain in the ***! But since I started using NPM, and even with this update, I always get an incorrect password error when I try to log in to the NPM app - not the web site. If I put in my password a second time, it works.

Also, many of the sites I have passwords stored for do not have the NPM logo show up in the log in screens, so I have to open the vault and manually copy and past my user name and passwords. WTF!!! Amazon is one in particular. I have set up different sites for every type of login screen I have encountered and none of them bring up NPM. I have to manually enter the user name and password each time. This is also a pain in the ***! I mean, what the hell is the point if I have to manually do everything? I might as well do what I use to do - keep all my logins in a password protected excel file and copy and past everything. This app really needs some serious updating to make it worth using.

Do I take it your post is all related to the Android NPM app?

I downloaded an update yesterday and now I do have to log in to both - what a pain in the ***!

This update probably reset everything in the app. I noted that I too had to first log into my Norton Account before opening the vault after this update.

Also, many of the sites I have passwords stored for do not have the NPM logo show up in the log in screens, so I have to open the vault and manually copy and past my user name and passwords.

Had you manually set up these logins, or had NPM saved them for you?  Either way, there is supposed to be a reporting feature for issues with specific web sites. I have reported that this process is not working at the moment. I have been told that Norton is working on the backend parts of this process. When it works, this is how to use it.

From your browser, click on the Norton Password Manager icon at the right of the browser address bar. Then be sure the vault is open. Then click the icon again, then on the 3 dots at the bottom right. Then click on Feedback and submit the web site information.
