I've totally lost confidence in Norton.

I started getting notifications that my Norton (on my mobile) was going to expire - despite over 100 days remaining on my subscription... asking for $19.99 to renew as 'my trial' was going to expire. I don't recall signing up to any trial. This has now expired and now, apparently, I have few protections. When I bought my subscription, Norton sold itself as overall cover for peace of mind. Now it just seems like nothing's safe until I pay up again ... I'm sick to death at Norton ... it seems like extortion to me.

Norton support is there to assist with issues 24/7, have you given them a session to figure out a solution?

Re: I've totally lost confidence in Norton.

This isn't the first issue I've had with Norton ... to be honest I'm 'chatted out' too. I guess what I really want to know is if this is how Norton is trying to get myself (and others) to buy their wifi (and possibly other add-ons) - by creating 'fear'? It's gone beyond irritation to my losing confidence in Norton. I honesty think if it's a 'marketing ploy', they've shot an own goal... handing this long standing customer to their opposition. Just wondering if other Norton customers feel this way.

Re: I've totally lost confidence in Norton.

I have subscriptions for 10 devices - 5 with over 300 days & 5 with over 100 days. I guess I just have to decide whether I can stomach staying with Norton until each expires or accept the (monetary loss) and get a new provider for peace of mind.

Previous to this ... of the same ilk ... I went through having somewhat disconcerting messages that my 'wifi network had been compromised'.

Re: I've totally lost confidence in Norton.

I have had Norton Core Router w/Norton Security W/Backup for two years. In that time, have been Inudated with Bogus Notifications of Suspicious Wi-Fi Connection (Get Norton WiFi Privacy Now..?) on my Own Norton Core Router's Wi-Fi, as well cannot install the Norton Security as Norton claims I haven't Got "Anymore Seats" or licenses...? Although I have only 2 out of 10 licenses installed. Attempting to gouge me to buy more Norton Security Apps on my Mobile Devices, when it clearly states my NSBU is iOS, Android, PC & Mac compatible...? As well, all Mobile Devices claim my purchased licenses had expired due to this issue above...as they continually harass with more Bogus Warnings of Imminent Danger due to lack of Norton Security Coverage, Password Management, WiFi Privacy Issues, Theft Alert apps, which should be Bundled in what We Already Paid For...!! This is attempting to cause Panic. This desperate plot they have fallen back into Upselling their product with ruthless abandon by saturation Fear Mongering is So Old School Pathetic...and will really drive a stake into the hearts of Us Faithful Customers who thought they have learned their lesson in years past...! So Disappointing...as Now it seems, there are indications that Norton Shares Its Program Codes with Russia...WTF... Just sick...!!

Hello @Bruzr

Please post in the Norton Core thread if you are having issues with Core. Your issues are compelling and I suggest that you to post in the Norton core thread suggested for better exposure and attention. Cheers

Are these notices showing on your mobile device? If so, have you signed into your Norton Account from that device? Tap the three bars at the top left of the NMS app and if you do not see your email address shown, tap on Sign In. That should activate the full version of the product again.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: I've totally lost confidence in Norton.

Thank you for your response.

... but the damage is done. I slept on it and have resolved that that I just cannot trust Norton anymore. If my system was actually compromised, that's bad. If it wasn't compromised, and Norton was just trying to get me to fork out more money by making me 'fearful' that something was wrong and had to be addressed immediately, that's really bad.

The whole point of having it was peace of mind - I no longer have that.

@Bruzr, I appears you are misinformed concerning Symantec "sharing" source code with foreign states. Please read these articles. Several major companies allowed scouring although not direct code: https://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/symantec-investigates-possible-leak-norton-antivirus-source-code
