Just Downloaded the New Firefox 57 ... BUT

........... can't see easily anywhere to activate/attach Norton/Identity Safe to the top toolbar (like previous versions!).  Currently Norton is not working with Firefox.  Is this temporary until Norton gets compatible, or I am just being dumb!  This is the same on my PC and laptop.  However the PC says previous Norton is not compatible.   Comments/advice please.Bob :)

Navigate to https://identitysafe.norton.com/client and install the add-ons you like.  Note:  The Norton Security Toolbar has been removed in 22.11 .2.

Unfortunately, none of the various above 2 options work to allow Norton to download add-ons with the new Firefox 57.0 (14Oct2017) on my PC or laptop to allow me to add the Norton Safe web bar, and therefore see on searches safe or otherwise websites!

Re: Just Downloaded the New Firefox 57 ... BUT

Sorry might have mislead you there with me being confused with all the 'technically' correct names.

What I meant was that I now don't have the Norton Toolbar in Firefox and it doesn't appear as an 'add on', and I cannot find out how to add it to the new Firefox 57 downloaded today!  Consequently, I don't get the Norton approvals/warnings alongside a suggested website when I put in a search on my web search engine (Bing in this case).

As I mentioned, the Norton Security Toolbar has been removed after the latest version of Norton updated.  Did you check the KB I mentioned earlier?

If Norton hasn't updated yet the toolbar may be listed under Add-ons > Legacy Extensions, but you won't be able to enable it.

Also, please see this announcement  -  Norton 22.11.2 Product Update available now .

Re: Just Downloaded the New Firefox 57 ... BUT

There is no longer a Norton ToolBar add-on for Firefox 57 it is replaced by enabling Norton Safe Web in your Norton Security Product. Now instead of a bar you have a little square icon which shows green with check mark website is rated safe, you can click on it for more info.  I'm still struggling with my mistake of updating Norton Identity Safe it worked great back in version 2 something, but current version rarely fills in user id and password and never saves them even though settings are set up that way...wow I miss working software, all these updates and changes give us less effective products just to please mozilla.

Thanks all.  I now understand that there is no longer a Norton Toolbar for the latest Firefox.  I did skim through the attachments and now have the Identity Safe round  :) icon on the Firefox toolbar.  What it does precisely and how it works is something I still have to fiddle with and discover!

Re: Just Downloaded the New Firefox 57 ... BUT

As a tail to my original post I have now relatively easily download/opened both Norton Safe Search and Safe Web into Firefox 57 with 2 buttons on the FF top bar.  This is in addition to Firefox's own safe search in the FF address bar!  I added the buttons via the NIS Identity section where you can 'not accept' to apply the Norton Home page (which I don't want!).

There was a slight glitch to start with as Norton only showed it wanted to add Safe Web to Edge.  That was fixed when I search the problem and changed the Win 10 Web Browser setting Default Apps button to FFox.  That immediately altered the Norton desire to add it to FFox 57 and solved another problem I had wondered about :)

I still like the old NIS way of setting the safe search approvals/warning alongside results from your search engine so you can see all.  Its loss is to me a retrograde step, but there you go I doubt things will ever change.

Re: Just Downloaded the New Firefox 57 ... BUT

Hello

Norton is aware that Norton Customers want the Safe Web Annotations or something very similar to them to be back, but Mozilla has to agree to any change also. Hopefully, Norton can come up with a more similar functionality to the Safe Web Annotations soon and hope that Mozilla will approve any change they do come up with.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.
