Just one question: why so complicated?

Why?

Why is it so hard to uninstall Norton?

Why?

Why is there not one single button, that says, "Uninstall" on it? And that single button does it. Without ANY [removed]

Just one. One button. Simple. Done. You would think leadership at Norton would have this figured out by now: ONE BUTTON. But no, that is not the case. They just have not learned. They will never learn. No, no... you have to go some forum, and wade through two dozen emails of tech geeks talking about "safe mode" and all this other [removed].

Since there is not a clean process nor a single button, Norton, along with all the other invasive virus protecting software, I will never, ever return to your terrible, really horrible business, and, I will make sure I spread the word to every single person I know, to never, ever use these products ever again. Period.

You made it hard on me? Guess what: I'm about to make it very, VERY, hard on you.

Re: Just one question: why so complicated?

Hi JDU

I've been using and supporting Windows and it's programs from back in the days before Windows 95 and I don't remember coming across programs that I have installed that include an Uninstall Button -- understandable since they really want to you to use it rather than get rid of it.

You don't say what version of which Norton Program you are using but I'm using Norton Security with Backup on Windows 7 and on Windows 10.

On Windows 7 it follows Windows conventions and if you click on START / All Programs and scroll down until you find Norton Security with BackUp and click on that you will some sub menu items including Uninstall Norton Security ....

I'd have to go start up Windows 10 to be sure where to find the equivalent and their menus are not always as user friendly but there's a way to get to the submenus from a START Tile or via the list of programs I'm pretty certain since it is a requirement of Windows compatibility that the program installed supplies an uninstall module.

I hope that helps but if not tell us which Norton program you have and which version of Windows you are using and one of us will know the answer. When I've a moment I'll check Windows 10 since I need to check it for updates.

Re: Just one question: why so complicated?

Thanks.

Again, simplicity. Uninstall. If Steve Jobs was in charge he'd fire everyone on the spot.

I am wondering why that cannot be a reality: simplicity. Just ... just amazing. Breathtakingly stupid, actually. But, amazing just the same.

Imagine the marketing potential of a virus hunting software that is advertised as simple, basic, and un-invasive. There is no such product on the market today.

Until then, F Norton and the rest of them.

So far as I'm concerned he's just venting and shows no interest in help.
