Length of Time to "Scan"-Calculate Storage???????

I have had to install, un-install, re-install, purge and whatever else (!) to use this program for the first time!  I have let the program "calculate" for 30-35 hours!  This is a new computer, not much on it!  What's the  deal?  In a weekend's time, all I have done is sit in front of this machine trying to figure out this online backup!

Re: Length of Time to "Scan"-Calculate Storage???????

Hello Sleneve,

Without knowing details about your system and what is selected its going to be difficult to troubleshoot what may be transpiring. It shouldn't need to scan the system for that long unless it was an older PC with a lot of data selected or possible permissions issues. Some security clients may also block the service from properly scanning your computer. Have you contacted Support yet so they can do a remote support session with you?

I remember my first use was a problem. Possibly not the same as yours, I do remember one thing that I discovered

I discovered that i had not done the activate, possibly because it was not intuitive as i found activate on a different page to the setup page. Press [Subscription Info] from the NOBU home page, you will find the activate button there. Like me, you may have missed this.

I also found the need to have the activeX filter on my browser turned off for the Norton site. You may have activeX filter on, but not the exemption for the site. If that is the case, there might be a range of additional issues not noticed if you are using preset backup settings.

If that is fine, a test I would do is to enter a clause defining say a single folder with a handful of files.
