License Usage Details on Norton Product main interface

I don't know about anyone else. I don't think "License Usage Details on Norton Product main interface" needs to be there at all. I'm aware of how many licenses I have and that are in use. It's beginning to look trashy with all the unnecessary stuff being added.

SGFC:

..I'm aware of how many licenses I have and that are in use....

I can think of one scenario where this might be useful.  A few years ago a handful of Norton users reported that unused installation seats were being illegally activated from their account - see my thread Unused Installation Seats Illegally Activated (Again).  I don't log into my Norton Account on a regular basis and if I'd been able to see the number of installation seats used in my main GUI I would have immediately known that someone had stolen the product key from my account.

People who purchase illegal keys from unauthorized sellers on eBay, Amazon, etc.  will also be able to see if their keys are fraudulent and have been re-sold to multiple users.  When they use their product key to activate Norton from the GUI as instructed by the scammer (Help | Enter Product Key - no log in to a Norton Account required) they will now be able to see that multiple installation seats have already been used on their license in the main GUI.

Hi Imacri,

Some good valid points you brought up here for having them displayed.

Re: License Usage Details on Norton Product main interface

The problem is though I have NS installed on 3 PCs and 1 Android phone but the GUI on the three PCs differ and sometimes show 3 licenses used, sometimes 4 licenses used, so it isn't any use for me if it isn't accurate.

so it isn't any use for me if it isn't accurate.

Maybe it gets its info from the Devices page on the Account web page....

Hello Krusty

Would the correct number of devices be corrected if you used Subscription Status under Help correct the count when it is incorrect? If anything is wrong, it is the use of Licenses Use... It is all 1 License being used. The 3 or 4 actually refers to Devices in Use.  The Android uses NMS and not NS.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

The Android uses NMS and not NS.

But it still gets activated on the NS subscription. So would still be counted with the NS installs.

Hi Flo,

No that doesn't make any difference.

I agree. Also there is tiny bug in the license info - no space between text and number of devices (in Russian location at least)
