Link guard will not enable

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of when link guard will be fixed or am I missing something on my device? My device is a S9+ and while trying to enable link guard within the nms app, I'm redirected to norton's support page via a browser option. Browser pairing has to be done for link guard to work, so I cleared/uninstalled chrome updates with no success. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled norton.

Re: Link guard will not enable

Have you been able to pair Link Guard with a browser? That is the first step. If you have already paired a browser, try tapping on Change beside the chosen browser. Choose another browser for now to test. Then turn off the Link Guard feature. Restart your device and then go back and reset the options for browser and then turn on the Link Guard feature again.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Link guard will not enable

Hi Peter- No, I'm not able to pair link guard to a browser. When I tap the toggle to turn link guard on, android gives me an option between chrome or samsung browsers to continue. After clicking one, I'm redirected to norton support page.

Try going into the Norton Mobile Security, NMS app settings. Tap on the 3 bars at the top left of the NMS screen and tap on Settings. Scroll down to the Anti Theft section and turn off the Device Administrator setting.  Now go to Android Settings - Apps. Scroll to the NMS app and clear the app cache and app Data. Restart the device and turn the Device Administrator setting back on. This will reset your NMS to a trial version. To get the full version back, open the NMS app, tap on the 3 bars at the top left, then tap Sign In. Enter your Norton Account information and you should have the full version again.

Then test to see if things work properly.

Did not work. Included link is what I see when I try to enable link guard. Second link is the page I'm redirected to after clicking either browser option. https://photos.app.goo.gl/nMWiztb8Rvr8FVtKA https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-mobile/current/info?OpenDocum...

Re: Link guard will not enable

I may have the solution for you. I ran into this when I first started playing with the Link Guard feature.

Your image.

To set up Link Guard you need to tap on Link Guard between your browser options, and choose Always.

Re: Link guard will not enable

That absolutely was the answer. To be honest, I feel so stupid going to school in the tech field and overlooked this. Thanks for your help.

Re: Link guard will not enable

You are welcome. Glad we got you sorted out.

Don't beat yourself up. As I noted, I also missed how to get it set up. I have been tech oriented almost forever, and tested and used most Norton products. I finally re read, slowly, the instructions in the first paragraph in your image. I too had been tapping on the browser and was getting nowhere.
