Live Update Question

I turn my 64 bit, Windows 10 computer off at night.  I am running latest version of NIS.  I have Live update and all associated items "ON" but when I boot up the computer in the morning, I am informed that virus scans or updates need to be done.  Nothing is done automatically.  I understand, obviously, that while the computer is off, that can't happen, but is Live update (auto update) supposed to check, then run automatically?  It used to work this way - issue only started happening in last major product update.  I uninstalled everything and reinstalled, but no help.  Is this process by design, or is there a way to set Live update to do its thing without my intervention?  Thanks.

Re: Live Update Question

Have you turned off Windows Fast Startup feature? If not, your turning off the computer at night does not do a complete system shutdown to allow for programs like Norton to fully update themselves. If you use Windows  10, there can be an issue with the Fast Start feature.. See more information here.

Note that if you did have Fast Startup turned off and you received the Windows Creator's Update, it would have been turned bac on.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
