Live Update won't update

Hello,

I have Norton Internet Security 4 for Mac running on an iMac PowerPC on OS 10.4.11. Everything had been working fine, but for the last week or so my LiveUpdate will not update.  When I run it manually, the window comes up that reads "Determining what's available" but nothing updates. Then the LiveUpdate Summary box opens like it has already updated and shows that everything is up-to-date.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Live Update won't update

Not quite the same as your report, but perhaps related:

I'm running Norton AntiVirus 11 under 10.5.8 on a PowerPC laptop.  I run Live Update daily.  I got a Vulnerability Protection update this evening, but the log shows the last Virus Definitions update was on 12/31.  I think there's a bug in Live Update that is keeping it from picking up new Virus Definition files dated 2010.

Re: Live Update won't update

Please check for updates again. We posted new Vulnerability Protection definitions this week, and you should have virus definition updates available. If LiveUpdate does not find anything new to update again, please open the Norton AntiVirus application, and look at the date of your virus definitions. If they are still from 2009, then there is a problem with LiveUpdate.

Re: Live Update won't update

On 1/7 I received the Vulnerability Protection Signatures update via Live Update but no Virus Definitions.  I run Live Update daily and the last Virus Definition update it received was on 12/31.

Later in the evening of 1/7 I downloaded and ran the Intelligent Updater, which worked fine.

On 1/8 Live Update then found a new set of Virus Definitions.  I don't know if that's due to some change you made in publishing the daily update or if running Intelligent Updater unblocked things.  In any event, Live Update now appears to be working correctly again for me --- although since there are no weekend updates I'll have to see what it finds tomorrow, 1/11, to be sure.
