Re: LiveUpdate

11 hours now, and it just hangs there. Have tried rebooting and everything. It has worked perfectly well until today when it started and nothing in my system has changed.

Re: LiveUpdate

same with me.

This has never happened before, why now?

I tried to let my computer update the entire night.  Nothing.

Hi JaniN83,

I know this is no help, but I am located in Mississippi (USA) and have been receiving LU's on a regular basis - perhaps a server is down in your area.  If anyone else is in your area they need to check. their's and let you know.

Re: LiveUpdate

you might want to try using the Norton Power Eraser to see if there are any threats on your computer. I, too am having difficulty right now getting my updates...been 2 hours now. I ran the power eraser and it shows no threats but still not getting updates...it very well may be a server problem for sure but if you have any doubts about it , you can download and run the power eraser in the meantime...you can click on support and let it run a scan for you....you will be given an option to go to the norton support chat forum...type in Liveupdate not updating and the chat bot will give you a link to download the power eraser. follow the instructions carefully. Hope this helps you. Paula

Re: LiveUpdate

Thanks for the replies. Yeah it can be a server down issue, don't know where else to test it tho. But seems a bit of a long time to be down, now it's been 1 whole day. Maybe when they get back to work on monday ;).

Re: LiveUpdate

LiveUpdate seems to work on my laptop with same setup. So only seems to be my desktop PC that doesn't want to update. Any suggestions? Built in fixing tool didn't find any problems. Any way to manually update latest definitions and such to see if it helps?

Or is it necessary to reinstall the whole N360..

Re: LiveUpdate

The update pack installed properly but it didn't fix the problem. What now did fix the problem, is that I rebooted the Win 8.. As you may know, shutting it down doesn't really totally shut it down, insteal reboot does a fresh start, and that fixed the problem.

Re: LiveUpdate

I have Windows 7. I ran the Auto Fix twice.  It said it repaired problem with Live Update the first time. Second time it stated no problems were found.  I rebooted my computer. Live Update ran once automatically. I clicked on the main page screen under "Security".  Live Update said it had run 2 minutes ago, next time it says 30 seconds ago, later in day it still states when it last ran.  But it hasn't ran at all!!! I checked Security History under Live Update and it shows it hasn't ran since the first time after I rebooted.  I ran it manually, it updated.  Would appreciate any help.
