LiveUpdate doesn't unfix

Having Norton 360.2.4.0.4 on Windows XP SP2, apparently updated correctly to the date (i.e under PC Security – details the last update is to-day), the red FIX button doesn’t never turn to green. As I saw in Symantec forums, I’ve both tried to update in interactive mode and used the Intelligent Updater, with no results: the red FIX is still there. What to do now?

Make sure that your system date is correct. Start>Run> in the Run dialogue box, type luall and click OK. This will run LiveUpdate. Let me know if you receive any error messages?

Re: LiveUpdate doesn't unfix

Thanks, but I’ve forgot to say that I had already done also that. Anyway, redone: no results, no message. But, to-day, the ‘last Virus Definition update’ date remains at yesterday, like my license was expired yesterday, but it was not.

Re: LiveUpdate doesn't unfix

Anyway, since I had a number of other problems, in the meantime I’ve decided  to uninstall Norton 360 and reinstall everything back again. The issue on subject seems to have been fixed with this basic way… for the time being, at least…and apart from the fact that Virus Definitions are updated at 25/09/08, while LiveUpDate, Virus and Spyware Scan, Browser Setting Check and Network Address Check were (or should I say will ?) all last runned at 26/12/08! I’m only sorry to have missed Christmas this year.In addition the automatic Support Session provided by the program itself repeatedly tells me that LiveUpDate needs to run, after a thousand times I’ve performed it…Moreover, from to-day I have a protection certificate problem with a site I normally visit: the man there is unaware of any issue and suggest to change the browser…maybe it would be much better to change the antivirus program.Norton 360 continues to give a lot of fun.

...and as I said, ten minutes after it is back again! The red X is there because Virus & spyware definitions are not up-to-date (still 25/09/08) and my PC may be at risk...and me too of getting fed up with Norton...No way to fixing it.

Re: LiveUpdate doesn't unfix

In this case, I suggest you to run PiUpdate from Pi Update . Once you run PiUpdate, you need to run LiveUpdate.

The Certificate Revocation error occurs when if the protection updates are not up to date. This also will be resolved after running PiUpdate and LiveUpdate.

Re: LiveUpdate doesn't unfix

Thank you for the help.I've done everything and at the moment it seems that the issue concerning the Certificate Revocation error was solved.Of all what is remaining is the red X fix relating to Virus & spyware definitions not up-to-date, though they are updated to the present day, which cannot be fixed in no way.I got aware this time that the date was correct in all but the month, that for some reason was turned to be December: now I have fixed also that and all dates in the Norton windows are correct (LiveUpDate, Virus and Spyware Scan, Browser Setting Check and Network Address Check). What are not correct are the dates of creation of the various Norton folders since I've reinstalled the program to-day being the month still set on December: could this be the last culprit?Should I newly uninstall and reinstall the program?

Sorry, having restarted Windows, also the red X turned finally to green: hope this would last and I'm not speaking too early. Thanks for the help.I wonder who turned the date to December, funny computer!
