LiveUpdate failed, now says reinstall entire product??

Out of nowhere a message popped up today saying a LiveUpdate had just failed and the entire Norton 360 product had to be reinstalled. What the heck is this about? Are they kidding?

Have you restarted your device since seeing this message? Restart, not shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled.  If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

Yeah I did restart and the same big error message popped up as soon as Windows 10 booted. Norton isn't running and I can't load it manually. This is definitely not why I pay good money every year for this product, to have it fail for no reason and make my PC vulnerable.

The good news is that Norton is aware that there is a problem with your installation and it warned you. The bad news is that it does appear you will have to reinstall your product. It is really quite painless if you just download and run the Norton Removal and Reinstall tool from   www.norton.com/nrnr  Be sure that after the reinstall, you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available.
