LiveUpdate fails to install updates

I have Norton Security Online, version 2007, I believe.  In the bottom right hand corner of my computer screen, on the task bar, is the Norton symbol. A red "x" appeared  on it, so I clicked on it. When the Security Center opened, it said my comptuer is at risk....and it gave a button to click that said "fix problem" I clicked this, and it said I had a  "Protection Update Problem." Symantec LiveUpdate opened, and it said it successfully installed all updates. I closed the program out, and it still said my computer was at risk, for the same reason indicated above. I restarted the computer, thinking that would help, but it didn't. I have repeated this process several times, but my computer is still at risk. I don't know what else to do to get these updates installed.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: LiveUpdate fails to install updates

After you run LiveUpdate, are your virus definitions current?

To pinpoint  which updates are failing, please run LiveUpdate in Interactive Mode as shown in this document:

Let us know which updates fail and whether you see any error codes (for example, LU1812).  You can click each update that fails to see the error code for that particular failure.

Re: LiveUpdate fails to install updates

Ok, I tried following the steps in the link you provided, but everything was already set that way, and I was unable to find any information for you.

However, not to cop out on you, I had also emailed technical support, and they returned my email telling me to run the updates manually, following this link : http://service1.symantec.com/Support/norton2008.nsf/docid/2007090100014179

When I went to this link, I clicked "Run it now"

It downloaded and installed the updates, and everything is now fixed.

I'm not sure what was wrong or how it was fixed, but it is.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you, but thank you for the effort to help. I really appreciate it, and if I run into any more problems, I'll be back!!

Thanks again!
