LiveUpdate problem - IE won't open until reboot

I have Norton Internet Security installed on my Windows 7 PC.  Recently I have noticed a problem after Live Update runs automatically.  When I get on the computer and I try to open internet explorer it doesn't open but a it does create a process that I can see in Task Manager.  If I look at the Live Update it will say something like it ran 2 minutes ago but if I run it manually it does an update again.  I have to reboot in order to get IE to work.   Any ideas?

thanks

Can you try a Firewall Reset and check the Firewall Program Rule for IE

In Settings Smart/Firewall/Program Rules, it also helps to set the firewall option for IE to Allow.

Reinstall IE?
IE is a feature of windows os. You cannot permanently remove it but downgrade it to what came with your OS, and then download the latest version and install it either manually or via windows update.

Re: LiveUpdate problem - IE won't open until reboot

thanks for the suggestions.  I have reset my firewall and added IE so hopefully it will work when I get the next update.  If it doesn't work I'll try upgrading or downgrading IE.
