Losing a potential customer due to the curfew and chat policies

Unfortunately, I am uninstalling this product.  I gave it a 45 day trial, however due to the holes in the software and allowing kids to log in (even if only for a 5-6 min), I have no use for this product.  As a parent (and I think most would agree) you hold kids responsible to mind the curfews that are set.  This product, for some strange reason, allows kids to log in at any time regardless of the curfew.  Chilldren feel that if the product allows them, then obviously so do the parents, which is entirely incorrect.

I think you have a great product, minus the fact that it can't hold to curfews and can't track web chats (facebook, gmail, etc).  When you can get some solid functionality around these pieces, I'll pay for it.  Until then, I can't even use the free version.

Re: Losing a potential customer due to the curfew and chat policies

Hi stumpy,

Thanks for the suggestions.  I remember we had the discussion at http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Online-Family/Allows-Child-to-Login-During-Blocked-Hours/m-p/316158#M6110 and we appreciate you sharing your thought on the product.

I've added your suggestion not allowing to log onto the PC at all during curfew time to the product enhancement list (other requests are on the list already).  We would love you to continue to use the program.  However, if you decide to come back later, you're always welcome at any time!

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Losing a potential customer due to the curfew and chat policies

Hi stumpy,

We appreciate your feedback and are looking for ways to balance your request with other requests to allow children to save their homework without a forced logout.  An example of such a request is located here if you are interested:   http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Online-Family/Allows-Child-to-Login-During-Blocked-Hours/td-p/315736/page/2.  As always, we try to strike a balance and come up with the most unobtrusive way to keep kids safe online while also not compromising their ability to use the computer for their schoolwork.

As always, your suggestions are very important to us.  Please keep them coming!!

Thanks Katie
