Loss of Desktop Icon after Updates

Everytime Norton Security puts out an updated engine, I lose my desktop icon (uistub.exe) because it still contains my OLD engine number not the new one. I have captured three screen shots which show what happens. This is clearly a problem with the update installer not properly updating the icon and needs to be resolved by the Norton programmers.

Thanks.

Re: Loss of Desktop Icon after Updates

Just right click the Norton Security program in your Windows Program Menu, and select Send to Desktop {Create Shortcut}

Or you can do it this way, as suggested by peterweb..

Re: Loss of Desktop Icon after Updates

Thank you for the reply. I have already fixed the problem by recreating the desktop icon. I'm tired of doing it every time the engine is updated via Live Update. I was hoping that someone from Norton would acknowledge the problem and fix it!

Not a huge problem, I would venture. Just a couple of mouse clicks.

Hello

Mine gets moved from it's usual place on my desktop. I just have to move it back to it's place.

Thanks.
