Lost Logins and Favorites

I have used Norton 360 for about 4 years now, every time I upgrade (from a CD) I always lose my logins and favorites. Even thou I check the save my personal preference tab. How do I upgrade with out losing everything? It is very frustrating.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi,

In addition to using the check you might also save the data before you do the upgrade. A backup is never a bad thing

Hi jrzygirlivinva,

If you are talking about the Identity Safe Data, check out the following:

EXPORT Identity Safe DataIf you use Identity Safe, before you uninstall NSS you will want to go into Settings > Identity Protection > Log into Identity Safe by clicking on Configure (if not already logged-in)You will be interested in the Backup Identity Safe Data option - you can click on Configure and will be permitted to browse your system for a location to save the data to. You can create an Identity Safe BU folder in my Documents or on your desktop - but the choice of location is yours. Select a location you will remember. IMPORT Identity Safe Data.Once NSS is installed, go back to the Identity Protection Settings page (above) and Select Restore Identity Safe Data by clicking configure. If you set a password when you saved the data, enter that password, the location of where you saved the data and then click OK. Your Identity Safe data should be restored to what you had before you uninstalled Norton.

As I understand it,  it is backed up in N 360 as an .npm file and it can be imported into NIS 2012.   NIS 2012 has the ability to import a .npm file from N 360 (or NIS 2011) and it will work in NIS 2012.
