MacBook Air Frozen

Over a month ago, my 2021 MacBook Air stopped loading websites.  Loading became just perpetually frozen.  I had never had this happen before.  I called Apple and went through a host of things to get it to work.  Nothing worked.

Finally the Apple Tech says uninstall your Norton 360.  I did that and what do you know, I could finally load websites again, and my MacBook functioned normally.

A week later, I reinstalled Norton 360.  I wanted to see if it would work this time. Same thing happened again -- websites would not load.  I had to uninstall Norton 360 again.

What gives? Any help is appreciated.

Re: MacBook Air Frozen

Thanks for the reply.  This time, when I reinstalled Norton, I did not turn on the VPN.  My iPad indicates no need to turn on the Norton VPN because my WiFi is secure and encrypted.  So I left the VPN off on my MacBook Air.  This seems to have worked -- no issues so far with sites not loading.

Re: MacBook Air Frozen

I've got the same problem on my new 16" M1 Max MacBook Pro (running 12.0.1 or 12.1).
Also had the same issue on an Intel 16" MacBook Pro. And still have the same issue on an old MacBook Air.
After installing Norton website loading works as expected for some time. After some time (varies from Mac to Mac) website loading takes several minutes or doesn't work at all. Uninstalling Norton instantly solves the problem. Reinstalling causes it again. Norton version doesn't matter...

Re: MacBook Air Frozen

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately this doesn't solve the problem for me as I never used the VPN.

Re: MacBook Air Frozen

Why has this post been marked as solved?

As I wrote, for none of my MacBooks the solution proposed solved anything!
