Macbook hangs at 3GB when cleaning files

When I run scan  and identify duplicate, similar and junk files and then start 'clean' my macbook hangs at 3GB. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Norton, tried selecting and cleaning one category at a time; left it cleaning overnight but no resolution.   OS is Big Sur.  Anyone had this prob and resolved it?

I have the same problem. Whenever I use Clean files it either freezes during the scan or during the cleaning process. Very frustrating. Using macOS Monterey12.2.1
