mcydr.com Adwa 80 1.amazonaws.com

Running a 2016 Macbook Air, and for the past 30 days or so, I've been receiving a Norton Utilities vulnerability blocking notification for "mcydr.com." Anyone else receiving this? It occurs approximately every 1/2 hour to an hour, and it occurs twice one after the other.

I've looked in the Norton Vulnerabilities Protection List, and it appears likely to be associated with this address: 54.225.139.223, stating "System Infected: Adwa 80" and "ec2-54-225-139-223.compute-1.amazonaws.com"

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

@Nazgul:

I'm not sure I can help you:

I personally think that subdomain@ ec2-54-225-139-223.compute-1.amazonaws.com is a risky item, like say a scareware-like page, according to the Norton report you shared.

All in all, you're protected, and you don't have to worry.

By default, the Vulnerability Protection option is turned on. Symantec recommends that you keep the Vulnerability Protection option turned on to protect your Mac from any malicious attacks.

Moreover, I recommend performing a full scan when you re-update your Norton software.

For more info, you may Chat with Norton Support.

Re: mcydr.com Adwa 80 1.amazonaws.com

Thank you for the quick response. That good news, however, I need the notification to stop appearing. I've attempted to block the address as well. Will keep pursuing this until I can ensure that this stops the mcydr.com Vulnerability Blocking notification.

Thanks,

Nazgul
