Mining option not showing up

I've got an older video card (AMD Radeon R9 390) and I want to put it to use mining.  I spoke with support a while back and they said that my system needed DDR4, so I updated the CPU/Motherboard/RAM, well past the minimum requirements now, but the mining option does not show up.  I've uninstalled/re-installed a couple of times, but still nothing.  I do have an open ticket, but figured I'd check here and see if anyone can offer a suggestion.  I did use the 3rd party site, PCI lookup, but it doesn't say anything about LHR for this video card.... ideas?

I appreciate any help.

Re: Mining option not showing up

It appears we did not have this as a viable card, the team is updating our backend to "accept" this as a viable card, it may take a reboot on your side to recognize it.

How much memory is on the AMD GPU card?

What version of Windows are you running? We have an issue with Windows 7 recognizing GPU cards that we are working on a fix.

Re: Mining option not showing up

The video card has 8gb of memory and the computer is running Windows 10 (Pro N).

Thanks

do you see the crypto security log message in your Norton 360 client indicating on each boot that it has checked the GPU for viability?

Re: Mining option not showing up

Is this the Windows event log or is there another one in the N 360 client?  I've looked around the client, but never found anything that says mentions a log.  If it's the client, where would that be?

Updated - I did reboot and checked the "View Recent History" option and there's nothing about crypto in there.  Just malware scan, protecting my connections, and connected to a network.

This is part of the Norton 360 client.

Click "open" on Device Security.

Next click "Security", then "History"

In the log drop down there should be a type called "Crypto", that should have all the log messages for Norton Crypto

Re: Mining option not showing up

Thanks... I did find an entry that says "No viable GPU found that can support crypto mining", but it was last checked yesterday morning.

I asked about the video card I have in a previous contact with support and they said nothing about it not being a viable card.  They only stated that I needed DDR4 RAM in my system, which I've updated.

So, is it a viable card?  I realize it's a bit dated, but it's got 8gb of ram and I've seen other miners (outside of Norton) say it works for mining.

Re: Mining option not showing up

@Ops400, from what we can tell, the miner should run at ~25-30MH, let me know if that is accurate.
