Norton Family for Android currently doesn't monitor social media accounts. I'll report your this request and MMS to the team.
For now, one way to monitor the child's social media activity is if you could join his/her social media accounts as a "buddy/friend".
I want to follow-up on this thread. MMS texts need to be monitored. Kids are creating Memes with content of a questionable nature and sharing them via text. As a parent, this is very concerning as I cannot monitor this. In addition, group messaging is reflected as an MMS text as well. If there is no ability to monitor MMS texts, kids have a very easy "out" to get around parental controls. How are parents supposed to monitor "Sexting" or sharing other pornographic images. hate speech, or the like if MMS texts are not abled to be effectively monitored? THIS IS A PROBLEM! Please resolve!
Thanks for the valuable feedback. I'll forward this to the management team.
I agree, this is a major hole in the product functionality. Parents must be able to monitor MMS messages. Is this included in any product requirements/roadmap to add this functionality? If so, when can we expect it to be released. As a former Software Product Manager at Siebel/Oracle, this is something PM should make a priority. I can't believe you don't support this when most other parental control/monitoring apps do support MMS monitoring. May have to go to another solution if this is not resolved for Norton.
Hi s friedl,
Thanks for the valuable input. I'll forward this to the team.
I just purchased Norton Security Premium to get the anti-virus protection I needed for all my devices AND to get Norton Family in the packaged deal ... I needed this to monitor ALL activity on my children's android mobile devices ...
I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT, NOW THAT I HAVE LEARNED YOU ARE UNABLE TO TRACK THE SOCIAL MEDIA OR VIDEO OR MMS ACTIVITY ...
I see that the last post on this thread was back in April ... If this is not a priority for Norton to make available to track in Norton Family, I feel that maybe I purchased this product in error and I may need to request a full refund and go elsewhere to purchase a product that will track this activity ...

I am unsure if you failed to understand the concerned voiced by previous posters on this forum or you have no other answer than the company line. As customers and concerned parents we are bringing forth an issue we have with this product. The fact that it fails to monitor MMS when your competitors are able to do so is a serious issue. It goes beyond a worry about what our children may or may not be doing. It can be a matter of children committing felony acts that will not only affect the parents, it can possibly lead to them being charged with child pornography charges. This can permanently impact their lives and the family as a whole. The point of purchasing this software is to help us protect our children from themselves and in doing so safeguard our family as a whole. Why should we remain customers if your product fails at allowing us to do this? I don't understand why you have yet to come up with a solution to this issue when your competitors have already done so. Add to this the fact that you have yet to develop a way for this software to monitor Microsoft Edge and the only solution you offer is telling us to ask our kids not to use it because Norton Family doesn't work on that browser.
JC577 Not meaning to sound brazen, however!! Answering your reply. I understand perfectly voiced concerns within this thread. Why is not apparent to you is that I donate my time here assisting other users just as I myself am. The company line? This is Symantec product and I am in no way a Symantec employee. No inside scoop or inputs on my part therefore I can only direct you to voice your complaints directly to support.
FWIW, an Admin Katie_Q has acknowledged the issue and forwarded to the engineering team per this post. Almost certainly this functionality will not be added overnight.
You may also post the suggestion of adding this functionality to the current product here:
Have a grand day!!
Thank you for your candor I appreciate it and in no way do I take any offence. In fact, you now have my respect and appreciation. Most of my experiences with Norton have been met with individuals who range from dismissive to, you guessed it, perpetuators of the company line. as an honorable person like yourself I offer my sincerest apology for assuming you were more of the same.
Have an awesome day.
