Gayathri,

We need (and deserve) more detail on this. Is it for all devices, just wireless ones, is this a firmware/software fix, are there actions we users should take? What's going on?

This is a follow-up from our update on December 26th. Our team was able to restore internet access connectivity to the majority of our Norton Core users. However, there are still some users that might experience intermittent connectivity issues due to certain system configurations.

I installed the Core two days ago. It worked until this morning. I noticed BBC News did not update (showed no new news). Internet speedtest would not run on my iPhone. Speedtest did run from my wire connected Windows PC. Rebooting (power switch) the Core seems to have resolved the issue at least for now. So my Core had Wi-Fi disconnected but the wired connections still worked. I did not try the Bluetooth reset procedure since I had not read that section of the manual yet. I have read it and will see if Bluetooth is dead when Wi-Fi is dead. I will call support if this occurs again.

Have you tried changing the wifi channel?

Change Norton Core network band settings

Don't know if it affects everybody or just me but I changed my wifi channel quite a long time ago as a few of my devices wouldn't connect to the required 2.4 channel until I separated the channels into two networks and connected to the correct channel manually.  That made no difference to the intermittent dropping of my wifi connection. Unlike what others seem to be experiencing I don't need to power cycle the Core to reconnect though, just toggling wifi off and on  with my phone is working. Maybe separating the channels into separate networks has something to do with that, not sure.

I'm having the same issue with the Internet connection constant dropping. I have just reset everything after disconnecting my Obihai OBi200 (VOIP) device to eliminate it as a possible issue. I will see how much time passes before I lose the Internet connection again... I'll keep you posted... really aggravating!

If possible, I would really like to leave this thread open just for comments from Gayathri or others from Norton regarding more detail on the 1/8/18 announcement.

Agreed.  This information posted was extremely vague and more specific information is warranted. Would like to see more detailed information from Norton if it is believed to have been resolved, and how?

Received Norton Core 226 on January 17, 2018. Only using Norton Core router for Apple iPad and Android phone. All other traffic still directly thru ASUS router due to earlier disconnect issues.

Have you tried Firmware 226 with your other devices to see if there has been any improvement as far as disconnects?
