Moto G5 Plus on Core

I just started using a Moto G5 Plus w/ Android 7.0 phone and I keep getting an Authentication problem message when trying to connect it to my Core. My Chrome book, my old Samsung Galaxy S w/ Android 4.4.2 still connect fine. When I call up the Core app on the Samsung, and try to login, it asks for a verification code, which I get through SMS, but when I put the code in and press verify, it just goes back to the login page.  Do I need to uninstall Norton Core from the Samsung, and then try to connect to the Core on the Moto?? I'm thinking there's a sequencing issue I'm missing. Thanks.

Hello RT Collier Do you have version 1.22 for the Android app for Core installed? Have you tried to reboot your phone? Give that a try at first, sometimes the simplest things are the cause of seemingly larger issues. If that doesn't fix the issue get the Core app here and reinstall.

Cheers

Re: Moto G5 Plus on Core

Nope. That didn't work either. I checked and yes, I have Norton Core 1.22 installed, but I reinstalled in anyway. Still no WiFi connectivity to my Core. As an aside, this has been going on all week, and I can connect to our Staff WiFi at work and login to same. Could it possibly be either the SIM card? Or the fact that I do not, as yet, have a MicoSD card in the phone? This is really puzzling!

Have you restarted your G5? Just like PC's, smartphones benefit from a reboot every once in a while.

Could it possibly be either the SIM card? Or the fact that I do not, as yet, have a MicoSD card in the phone?

No. The SIM card is only for your connection to your cell carrier, and the SD card is just for storage. Nothing to do with your Wifi connection.

Re: Moto G5 Plus on Core

All: RT Collier - Connecting to my Core, I open the list of wifi networks available on the phone and select the network I want to join. Tell it to connect then insert the passcode from that Core network into the phone and it connects. If this phone has previously connected to the Core it should still have it in the "previously connected" listing and connect automatically each time its within range. Have you checked this list to see whether the device is being blocked inadvertently?

Re: Moto G5 Plus on Core

Thanks for the update. Just so I personally understand clearly. You are having this issue getting the phone connected to wifi on the Core NOT logging into your Norton account on the app to access the Core settings on your phone correct? This is the reason I'm asking that question. That implies logging into your account as it will ask for a verification code. Wifi login won't.  Cheers

This sounds like the VIP Access 2 factor authentication for logging into their Norton Account. Nothing to do with the Core.
