My desk top will not connect to the internet and says "Norton product did not install properly".

Sorry for the long "subject line". My desk top OS windows 7 premium gets this message when I turne it on, "Norton product not installed properly". I have tried removing with NRT to no avail. I have followed some other remedies to no avail. I am (not able) to connect to the internet. I have also received "diagnosis message stating: "Teredo Tunneling adapter issue (error code 10)". I have removed that adapter which did not fix the issue and can not get back that adapter, and I am not sure as to whether I acutually need to, At any rate I guess I need some help.

Thanks for reading,

Brad

Re: My desk top will not connect to the internet and says "Norton product did not install properly".

You will need more help than I can give you with the possible after effects of the error message you quote

But could you say if you had any other security application installed before trying to install the Norton product (Which Norton Product was it?) and if so what was the brand and version of security application? How did you remove it? By the normal Windows Uninstall or did you use the special clean up tool most applications have for download on their website.

Let us know this and any other details, background etc.

If you did have another security application (or still have it installed then we can point you to the tool needed to clean up with.

Did you try removing all network adapters from Device manager? Then restart your computer to allow Windows to reinstall the drivers.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
