My Identity Safe is not a part of Core Software

My subscription says my Identity Safe is a trial version but is active.  I have been using it for years. Suddenly it has no login ids (although I can see them). Now it has one, Norton, I just changed my password. What the heck is going on???? The core support folks said it was not a part of core. I am afraid I yelled at the poor woman. Who is right. Is there an extra charge? I am thinking that I will just use firefox and chrome from now on. Unless this is just some cruel mistake/bug.

Re: My Identity Safe is not a part of Core Software

Hello Anne. The Core Security Plus software is the same product as your Norton Security Premium, except for the number of devices you can install on while the Core Security Plus covers unlimited devices. And it does come with the backup feature. ID Safe should be in the install as well. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v123024499_EndUserProfile_en_us

If you are using an older "stand alone" version of ID safe and have installed Core security you can export the logins from the old version then import them into the new core security install. Here is how: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v94725076_identity_safe_standalone_1_en_us

Re: My Identity Safe is not a part of Core Software

Hi SoulAsylum - thanks much for your answer.  This time everything was back in my vault. It was also combining with a problem with a dropbox password that I changed. This is my karma - bugs and wierdnesses always find me.  The only thing that is still strange is below that my Identity Safe is listed as Trial Subscription: ACTIVE

That is still worrying me.  I also happened to find my identity safe backups, but as I said above I didn't have to reload.

Thanks again!!

Oh, one last thing, I wouldn't be caught dead using internet explorer, how can I shut up the constant urgings to add your security apps to it.  It would be nice to have a way to pick the browsers one uses.

Also, when will you get wireless printers working, if ever.

thank you thank you thank you. I like id safe.

Re: My Identity Safe is not a part of Core Software

You are most welcome!! Answering you other questions about your browser. If you are running Windows 10 open the notifications area (icon that looks like a blank page near the system time). In the window/menu that appears click expand to see all the available system icon areas. Find and click "All Settings". In the System Settings area that appears find the name "Apps" and open it. The next window that appears is "Apps & Features", look at the left side menu and find "Default Apps" and open it. On the right side of the page you will see where you can set your default programs. Scroll down to "Browser" and click. A menu will appear and you can then set your browser to the one of your choice.

Concerning wireless printers. You need only to setup most printers wired initially. During that setup the install program should ask you if you are setting up wired or wireless. Choose wireless and follow the prompts. Once done you can set the wireless passcode you made for the Core wireless network and it will connect to the Core when it is powered on.

A final note about your still seeing "Trial" on the subscription. Chat with support again with this link. I am sure they will straighten it out pronto for you. Happy holidays!!

Cheers

Re: My Identity Safe is not a part of Core Software

Hello

I just got a new wireless printer for my birthday. My Core saw the new printer right away. My old printer is still on the bottom as it is not being used. I just changed the information I think in my Norton Account online. I don't think that the printer is listed there. Anyway, the printer seems to work ok after I learn how to use the printer.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.
