NAS not seen by Win-10 File Explorer

I have a QNap NAS (QNap453B to be specific) that is not being seen by computers with Win-10 File Explorer.  (I can create shared drives that see the individual folders on the NAS and to further confuse things the NAS does show up under "Media Devices", but only the music folder is visible.  And even more confusing, it is being seen by File Explorer on Win-7 based computers.)  I've done all the things that QNap support has recommended without success.  They suggest changing the firewall settings as a last resort.  Since the firewall settings are being controlled by Norton security, this seems a good place to start but I have no idea which setting(s) to change.  I could try the Easter egg approach, but I hope someone has some advice.

Has anyone else had such a problem?  Which settings would control how Win-10 File Explorer "sees" what's on the LAN?

Start by temporarily disabling Norton Smart Firewall to see if it is causing the problem.  Right click on the Norton icon in the System tray, and click on Disable Smart Firewall. Choose a time frame and click apply. Then test to see if you can see the NAS. If you still cannot see it, it would suggest that the Norton firewall is not involved.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
