Need to talk to an actual person

I received a text which may be a scam to steal money.  I will show you:

[NORTON360] Dear User, Your two year subscription is renewed automatically and will be deducted USD 539.00 from your account. Not You? Call (877)-907-0081.

This sounds like a scam to steal money. My subscription is on autopay, and isn't renewed till the middle of November.

Re: Need to talk to an actual person

Definitely a scam. The are trying to get you to call that number and they will say they need your banking information to process the refund. But in fact they will make a withdrawl.

Unfortunately, these scams are just sent to random email or text #'s betting on the fact that one in ten thousand will actually reply and fall for the scam. They don't even know if you actually have a Norton product. I often get the same scam supposedly from McAfee. I have never had a McAfee product on any of my devices.

Re: Need to talk to an actual person

Thank you kindly for the feedback. I received another text from a totally different area code (the first was California, this one just received was a Utah area code). Scammers never give up. Key point for me was the accent (Pakistani / Indian). I knew it wasn't them. I get spam calls over twenty a day. When I do take the call, nearly every accent is Pakistani / Indian.

Again, thank you for the assistance.
