I have 15 days to go on my present subscription and I have just activated my new one it shows up with an expiry date of 2024 and that it was downloaded and installed but it has not been installed and it still shows that I have 5 more applications, could someone please help

Did you enter your new product key into your currently installed Norton product?
One thing to note is that you are going to lose the 15 days you still have left on your old subscription. To regain those days you need to contact Norton Support and ask them to add that time to your new subscription. www.norton.com/contactcs If using the chat function, as soon as you can enter any information, enter "agent please". That will get you out of the chat bot and connected to a human.
