New Windows 10

Is Norton fully up to date with latest Windows update? Do I need to do anything?

Re: New Windows 10

I am running Windows 10 v 1803 (latest) with KB4100403 and KB4103721 (0403 from today) without problems. The only weird thing I noticed was for awhile the Security Dashboard would show red at boot-up (I don't have fast boot enabled) and it took some time for it to gather info from Norton that the Virus and threat protection & Firewall and network protection were active - but that's cleared up (probably as a result of the latest Live Updates).

I think you're good to go...

There does seem to be one issue that has affected a number of users regarding the right click option to scan individual files and folders. Although not affecting all Norton users, you should be aware of it.   https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-right-click-context-menu-m...

One suggestion that has been made is to disable Norton Auto Protect while you process the Windows Update.  There is information that MS suggests removing/disabling third party AV products before updating. This would leave you with Windows Defender protecting your system while you get the update.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: New Windows 10

If you disable Norton Auto Protect then Windows Defender will not be activated and you are unprotected. On my 3 Windows 10 systems I keep Norton and Malwarebytes running during Windows Updates and have had no problems. Your results may vary.

Re: New Windows 10

Thanks for the clarification Jim. I should have separated the disable Norton from the MS suggestions to remove the AV products.
