The last few days my PC (Win8.1 64bit pro) keeps getting a pop-up from NF saying it has been updated and needs to be rebooted. I uninstalled NF (via control panel) and reinstalled it YET the problem remains.
We released two updates for Norton family which require reboot to get applied.
Norton Family client is asking for reboot because of the updates.
Also for portal build update, users will again require reboot to get updated.
I am getting the same problem with Norton Internet Security 360. The problem started in Oct, 2016. Several times a day I get a "Re-Start Required to Continue Deleting Viruses". The Pop-Up gives four options: Re-Start Now, Remind me in an hour, Remind me in ? hours, Remind me in 24 hours; no matter what you pick the pop-up is back in an hour or so. I have restarted the computer at least 50 times in an effort to get rid of it. The only solution from Norton/Symantec that I have seen was in an item on Google, that said to run Norton Erase; I did that it didn't help. It's real annoying, and I have sent a message to Norton/Symantec with no reply; apparently they couldn't care less. I see on Google that many people are having the same problem with Norton/Symantec.
I have been a Norton/Symantec fan/customer for over 20 years; but, if they don't fix this soon, I will be moving on to another Anti-Virus supplier.
