NFMWps Process listening on port 9000 ( What is this? )

I went to start a service on port 9000, but I am finding that the address is in use by what appears to be a Norton process running under the _www user.  Further investigation of the PID points to /Library/Application Support/Symantec/Silo/NFM/WebProtection/NFMWps.  I am able to use another port for my process, but I want to verify what this Norton process is.

What is the NFMWps process? Thank you.

I just discovered this on my Mac.  I too would like to know what this is, as it has never appeared before.

EDIT:  Where I found it is in the Norton Firewall listings, where it has never been before.  I don't know if it has been showing in the Activity Monitor in the past.

Same problem, another post here on the same issue, Norton please change this, make it configurable, or indicate where the settings are for this, even if we have to dig into the the package-
