NIS 2009 and Utilities bundle

Hi guys this is my first post here. Iam vey happy with the direction Symantec is going with the 2009 software. NIS and utilities are just what I needed, lean, high performance, clean products. Great Work!

I just downloaded today the new Norton Utilities 14 and I like it. I used Registry Mechanic & Privacy Guardian in the past and found them decent cleaners. I want to purchase the full version but I do not want to pay 50.00 for it. I paid 59.00 (I think it was) for NIS 09 a few weeks after it was released with a discount code. The utilities package was not available to me at the time.  Now I know you guys are offering a good product but IMO is not worth 50.00. I use Advanced Systemcare Pro as well and it only cost me 19.99 and has way more features. Iam not plugging them but in my case I only use two features in NU 09, the reg cleaner and disk cleaner. In ASC I use about 10 features daily for less than half the price of NU 09.

Now I know people will probably pay your list price but I had no opportunity to buy the bundle. So would it be somehow possible for me to pay the difference in the bundle price since I have a 1 year liscense to NIS 09 already? Thanks for any help guys, Much apreciated!

PS - I have one question about NU 09 while Im at it. When I do a reg scan, the program automatically ignores 24 problems it finds. There is no items in the ignore lists in options either. Is there any way to saftley clean these entries or ignore them from the scan? This happened to me in RM also but I never fixed it. TY Again

Re: NIS 2009 and Utilities bundle

Did you try customer support?

There are a lot of official Symantec employees around here, but I'm affraid they will ask you to contact them with this question. These decisions are regularly Marketing issues. But maybe there is a deal you can make

Re: NIS 2009 and Utilities bundle

Hey guys, just wanted to close this and post some more info about it. I got live chat to work and talked to a rep about a deal for this bundle. If anyone is in the same situation and wants NU 09 for the bundle price and already have a NIS 09 subscription, this is what I did.

First off Iam extremely HAPPY with symantec customer service to say the least. I was able to connect via live chat and talk to someone within the first 2 minutes. The rep explained to me since the bundle was not offered at the time NIS 09 was released, that 29.99 was the best price they could do. This still seemed a bit high to me for this kind of program so I inquired some more about it. The rep then gave me an extra 60 days on my NIS 09 subscription to compensate me the difference.

Like I said Im really happy with the direction Symantec is going twoards improving their products. I just hope Symantec keeps PC Tools products as they are and also utilize PC Tool's technology into Norton products. This seems to be exactly what is happening and that is excellent!  And the customer service is top notch with no headaches involved lol. Thanks Again!
