NIS 2011 and Error Code 3035,6

Upon update from NIS 2010 to 2011, I have had trouble with the install.  I have Windows XP,  and windows firewall is turned off when installing/running Norton.

Error Code 3035,6 ...and a warning box saying antivirus protection has been turned off.

A run down of what I have tried:

I have, ran live update until no more udates found.  Restarted the computer.

Removed Norton program via Control Panel, Add/Remove.

Restarted.

Ran Norton Removal Tool.

Restarted.

Downloaded NIS 2011 again and installed.

Everything seems to run fine for a few minutes, then the same error code pops up.

Repeated the Live Update process and restarted.  Same error message on startup.

Please help!  I appreciate any advice you can give.

Hello tmowles and welcome!

When you uninstalled via Add-Remove Programs which option did you select from this uninstall window?

Do you have any other security programs running?

Thanks!

If the problem stil persists, then backup the Windows Registry. Run the Norton Removal Tool again. Navigate to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SRTSP

Delete the entire SRTSP key. Then reinstall Norton 2011 product and let us know the results.
