NIS 2013 20.1.1.2

How come I am stuck on 20.1.1.2 when LiveUpdate indicated it downloaded a rebootless patch? It applied the patch, closed applications and said "Explore" when it was done. When I clicked "Explore" it opened up NIS.

But I am stuck on 20.1.1.2 instead of 20.2.x.x

Dutch version will come later.

Please Note: The patch is currently available to ENGLISH users ONLY. We will be releasing the patches in other regions soon.x

I've just had exactly the same problem, although when i clicked on explore, nothing happend!!!, and im on English! What is going on ? I notice in the changlog, no mention of Facebook icon or fix for the toolbar's from 2012 that were minimised in that version and now stuck like that on 2013, also i see customer pressure hasn't made the widget come back!....dissapointed to say the least!

Re: NIS 2013 20.1.1.2

Applied this patch this morning, still on 20.1.1.2.

To receive the update, simply run LiveUpdate and download the update. A reboot will be required. - No reboot for me.

Reboot and still

Corrected an issue that caused a delay in loading the Norton Tray Icon. NOT CORRECTED!

Verified on PC #2 Dell XPS 8500 running Win 7 Ultimate; no reboot; icon still slow to load then loads with red X. PC#1 is Dell XPS laptop 17 3D.

I have 48 pc's to check when I'm back in the office on Monday.

Re: NIS 2013 20.1.1.2

Please read the announcement : the distribution is in principle a 3 step phased operation :

1. Make the (English version!) of the patch available for a limited amount of  hours and then follow up by Symantec

2. After conformation that it runs well at customers who could install it in the timeframe above, make (still English version) the patch generally available

3. In due time (mostly around 5 days) : make the Non-Engelish versions generally available

So patience is a virtue !

The patch update process itself is basically a two step process, where first off most of the files in the patch are downloaded already through Liveupdate.

After general release (of your language version) a second part of the patch is downloaded and a reboot initiated, which then 'switches' to the new version.

So...if you are still on 20.1.1.2, then the second part of the patch isn't already available to you and you certainly do not have the improvements yet.

Again : Patience is a real virtue !

I think this phased distribution is good thing, as you do not want the patch to cripple your Norton product (more).

Re: NIS 2013 20.1.1.2

Just to report my computer, windows 7 sp1 64bit, received the patch. applied the patch and it did not ask for a reboot. I restarted the computer anyway and I am still on 20.1.1.2   also the tray icon still takes 60 seconds to show.

Sorry I did not know this was a phased-in patch. I must have received the first phase of the patch.

Well I am not Dutch so...

Any who sorry for the confusion. I opened the forum and read the most recent announcement after getting 20.1.1.2. When I saw 20.2.x.x I figured I should be on it.

I will wait. I just wanted to be sure that it wasn't a mess up.

Totally missed this too;

"Some of you may receive an update via LiveUpdate, but your version remains at 20.1. This is normal, and part of the phased deployment."

Re: NIS 2013 20.1.1.2

I just updated to v20.2.0.19 on one of my systems. The funny part is that I never had any issues with the earlier v20.1. The updated version also works well for me. Some of the particular differences I have noted is that NIS tray icon now loads immediately at startup (It used to take 10-15 sec earlier) and that the GUI is much more responsive (opens quickly than before).

My other system still has the old v20.1.x.x and would not update inspite of repeated liveupdate attempts.

And no, the update did not require a reboot at all. Liveupdate is also faster now.

Today live update seems to have 'updated' my NAV 2103 to 20.1.1.5 (required a restart).
