NIS 2017- How to Whitelist... a program?

I have 2 large/complex... programs that I would like NIS to "Fully" Trust (don't slow processing...)-

1. Macrium Reflect (system backup)

2. CCleaner (system tune-up...).

My  old IS had an option to easily do this, but I  couldn't find anything  in the NIS PDF?

Please provide a procedure, or...

Exclude files or folders from scan

If you are certain that the file is good, then you can exclude the files or folders from being scanned.

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Under Detailed Settings, click Antivirus.

  4. On the Scans and Risks tab, scroll down to Exclusions / Low Risks.

  5. Next to Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection row, click Configure.

  6. In the Real Time Exclusions window, click Add Folders or Add Files.

  7. Browse for and select the folders or files that you want to exclude from the scan, and then click OK.

  8. Click Apply, and then click OK.

bjm:

Thank you for the procedure! It worked Good on CCleaner/ Macrium

1. When I also tried to add Defraggler Disk Defrag free folder (did Not replace WDD (set to Manual))- The box was Grey?  Is this a problem (I have previously done a full negative scan).  -Do I need to Apply/OK after Every Change?

2. After making NIS settings... changes/closing, about 30min later a pop-up box will flash in the lower right corner. Then the next day I won't see a background updating pop-up until  After I have restarted my other computer 3-times?     a. Is there a setting to Trust... another computer on the same router, or...?

I've not had to exclude programs for performance "(don't slow processing...)-."
for example, I'll run Macrium with machine quiet.
