NIS fails to work after every windows 10 update issue

Every time windows 10 has an update my Norton wont start up or wont start from desktop shortcut.

Sometimes I get an error code telling me to uninstall/reinstall Norton, but give it a day or two and the same problem occurs plus windows also totally resets the edge browser to default settings at the same time loosing any favourites etc.

Does anyone else get this issue? I have done multiple reinstalls of windows and Norton to give a clean slate but same problems occur and its 50/50 if windows restore will even set it right or not.

Any ideas anyone?

Re: NIS fails to work after every windows 10 update issue

Hello

Norton does not completely support Edge. It is recommended that you pick one of the other supported browsers like IE 11, Chrome, FF. It is also best to log in as Admin when installing Norton. If you had any other security program installed before Norton, you must uninstall it using the other vendor's removal program.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.18.0.213 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Re: NIS fails to work after every windows 10 update issue

I opened task manager and noticed Norton was missing in the start-up tab were all the other boot-up programs are listed, so I reinstalled NIS again to restore it, which worked for a few boot-ups, but then it was missing again.I did a system restore point when it was working and rolled it back and it worked but same results after a few boots it is missing from the start-up program file.It seems to happen mostly if windows updates are applied for some reason

Nik Brunt:  I opened task manager and noticed Norton was missing in the start-up tab were all the other boot-up programs are listed, [..]

Task Manager > Startup .....will not find Norton.
Task Manager > Processes .... find Norton.
Task Manager > Details.... find Norton.
Task Manager > Services .... find Norton.

Norton runs as a service.  It should not be listed in the Windows start up tab.
