NIS Tool Bar

I'm not at all pleased with the Norton Toolbar being hidden. I much prefer to have it visible to make it more easily accessible. Having the toolbar showing at all times lets me easily see if my Identity Safe is open.

I don't see any icon in the upper right corner to bring it into view.

And the "Norton Secured" button doesn't do anything on my main computer, which is running Version 64.0.3282.186 (Official Build) (64-bit). Although it does on others that are running a slightly older version.

But I'd still like to have it visible at all times.

Re: NIS Tool Bar

Better to be hidden but reachable, so that it does not interfere with any webpage content at the top of a web page.  Other than that, if the icon is not appearing in your browser's toolbar area, this is unfortunate.  By some chance, are you in incognito or private mode and the extension not yet allowed (your settings) for this mode?  Is your extension "Enabled"?

Re: NIS Tool Bar

Is it possible that you may have inadvertently hidden the Norton Toolbar Icon (unintentionally moved it to the Chrome Menu)? To check this, open the Chrome Menu by clicking the 3-vertical-dots at the far-right-end of the Chrome address bar and look in the menu for the missing Norton icon.  If you see it, right-click it and select the "Show in Toolbar" option.

FWIW, the ability to hide/unhide extension icons on the address bar has been a Desktop Chromium feature since the v48 release.  Here's an excerpt from the Chromium Community Help pages discussing the feature and how to use it:

From the "Introducing Chrome 48!" post:   /chrome/forum/AAAAP1KN0B0t9AHfd90OAE

  • You can also hide your toolbar extensions in the Chrome menu by right clicking on the extension button and selecting “Hide in Chrome menu.”

    • Note: you have to individually hide each extension that you don’t want displayed in your toolbar

    • From the Chrome Menu, right click “Show in Toolbar” to bring a button back to your Chrome toolbar.

Hopefully this information helps...

Cheers!

Re: NIS Tool Bar

The choice of placement should be left up to the end user. I much prefer the tool bar at the top and spanning the page.

Re: NIS Tool Bar

Thanks. Unfortunately the icons don't show up on that menu.
