NIS v21 Brain-dead toolbar...

Good grief ... What the heck was Norton thinking this time?  Is this supposed to be an example of "less being more"?  Well IMHO it's a total fail.  Where's the configuration menu?  (yea I know - buried deep in the bowels of the new PW manager - Yup - that's some good think'n there!)    Where's the quick link to the "Safe Web" check site that used to be on the menu?  Let's see, didn't that used to be refered to as "Know before you go" or something like that?  Now it's just go fish, I guess...

Seems the "Norton" name "logo" has been reduced to nothing but a TB space real estate hog.

Ended up pinning my own SafeWeb link to the Browser's favorites bar to make up for the one lost from the now nonexistent Norton menu (you know - the previous version NTB with the "Norton" name button that was meaningful and had a worthwhile and useful purpose to its existence).   Now it's just an oinker...   At least give us an option to turn off the logo so we can get the space back to use for something productive and worthwhile - do you really feel the need to have to advertise to the people who've already purchased your product?

Come on Norton - I know you can do better than this...

Which browser are you using? In Firefox you can hide the Toolbar and get all that space back without affecting the functionality. I suspect you knew that though. I suppose you can do the same with IE, have no idea about that other browser...

I agree 100% with you on the Safe Web link fiasco.

But there are links buried in both Norton Account and Norton Management on the "Other Apps" dropdowns - once you open either, log in and drop the menu down!

Yes, I know 1st the SAFE widget was removed and the link was moved to the Norton NTB Icon along with the Share and a few other options, but now even those that do swtill exsist have been buried.

I do use the PW Vault and for that the NTB is still useful to have enabled.

BTW: Norton EMPs; There used to be an option in the Main GUI/Settings/Web/Identity Safe to completely delete the vault content - now where have you hidden that?  Or like the other removed features, have you deemed that we don't need that feature anymore as well?

Hi Yank,

I'm sure all this came up in the Beta cycles (just like all the new annoyances did last beta cycle) but I was just to busy to participate this go-round...

So here we are again - dead and lovin it...

Best,

John

Please see my post here and prasanna_a'sresponse in regards to deleting the vault.

Now isn't that another function that is user friendly and very visibile.

OMG!  You've got to be kidding me...     Who the heck cooked that idea up?  The third-grade introductory programming class?  Wow...  And such an improvement, intuitively, over the previous method of clicking here ...

Seems we're going in reverse, again...

Best,

John
