NMS $50 per year?

Hi,

I'm already using your Internet Security suite and I'm really happy with that. I also wanted to subscribe to NMS for Android. According to your announcement it's $29.99 a year which would be 21.12€ over here in Germany. That's a price I'm willing to pay.

I wanted to subscribe via the Android App but there it is 29.99€ + taxes so that I get a sum of 36.29€ which are $51,69. I'm sorry but that price is not acceptable for me! I would get a 5 computer license for your Intenet Security over here for that amount.

Is this really the intended price for German customers?

Regards,

Michael

Re: NMS $50 per year?

Hi MichaelS

You ask a good question which only Norton can answer but hopefully it is just a technical error in the first day of the non Beta version going out onto the Market.  The coincidence between the $29.99 and the 29.99€ (plus taxes) seems a bit odd to me.  Whatever the price proves to be are you aware that the "Lite" version is free.  This seems to give much of the functionality of the old Beta and may meet your needs at least until the pricing issue is sorted out to your satisfaction.

If you upgraded to Lite from the old Beta version, as I did, you get a warning that you need to pay for the new licence but that appears to only apply to the full functionality.  If you decline to pay, as I have so far, the software stops nagging and continues to operate in the "Lite" mode.

Hope that helps.

Re: NMS $50 per year?

Hey,

thank you for your answer. I am aware of the functionality of the lite version but I would like to get the full feature set and to support Norton for bringing up an Android version of NMS. I'll wait until the price issue will hopefully be sorted out as $50 seems  to be way to much.

Deploying through the Android Market is definitely a new thing for us and we will be looking at everything around this.  Are the taxes that you calculated what Google Checkout showed are you using an expected tax rate?

Keep in mind that the Android Market is only one way to get a hold of Norton Mobile Security.  You can also look at your local electronics retailer as well.

Re: NMS $50 per year?

Hi,

thank you for your reply. I just found NMS on Amazon.de for 25.99€ ($36.99). :)

The tax is the German value added tax which is 19%. It gets added by Google Checkout automatically.

Re: NMS $50 per year?

I'll let the finance guys know as it should have used a different tax rate I believe.

Glad you found the copy on Amazon.
