No Hawaii shipping?

It looks like there's no Hawaii option for shipping. Just for fun, it appears Norton hates Alaska as well.

I called the support line and was told they are working on a solution and to check back next month.

Being a math wiz, I quickly realized that unlike other Norton users, I will not enjoy the $100 discount for preordering prior to June 28th.

It's useless making threats because ultimately companies don't care, but I'll still treat this as a test of sorts. I mean, I don't know how much confidence I can have in a company that can't figure out how to ship their product to their customers.

Hey! What do you know? I just read the security suites ratings for 2017, and Norton is not the only EC around. No, no, not a threat. Just exploring my options, you know?

Yes. The Core is only available in the 48 states. Nowhere else in the world yet. I could argue that I am closer than you, being in Canada. It probably has nothing to do with shipping problems, because we all know you can ship world wide next day.

It may have some legal issue. I have seen other US  products noting they are not available in Hawaii and Alaska.

And I too will not be able to take advantage of the $100 introductory discount when distribution is widened.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: No Hawaii shipping?

I live in Alaska which prevents me from taking advantage of the $100 discount as well.  The crazy part is that I can pre-order it from my local Best Buy or Amazon but would not get the discount.

Re: No Hawaii shipping?

That was also the suggestion from the Support person I spoke with; buy it on Amazon.

I asked if Norton would provide a coupon current users could apply. The answer was: No.

I think at this point it becomes — at least for me — a matter of principle. I see no indication the company has sufficient respect for Hawaii and Alaska customers to even explain "why" they can't ship there.

Failing a reasonable explanation, I conclude they don't care (despite their insistance customer care is important to them) . . . which then brings into question their word on the utility and quality of the product. Perhaps they're marketing the equivalent of snake-oil even as they tout their commitment to keeping us safe. Again, I speak for myself.

Re: No Hawaii shipping?

I am closer to thinking the reason may be legal. My be they think export/imports laws apply to Hawaii and Alaska. But since they have not given an answer who knows.

Re: No Hawaii shipping?

Last time I ran into this problem I was told the company had a contract with a single carrier for all their delivery to save on cost and was limited to ground transportation delivery only. Could be one possible reason but you would hope a company like Norton wouldn’t be so short sited. Save a few cents here and piss off a lot of people outside the continental 48.
