no norton firewall tab

I got a message from windows telling me Norton Firewall was off.  Rebooted my windows 7 laptop, message went away.  However wanted to check on Norton firewall status.  All sites told me to open settings on main norton window, then click firewall.  Did this only no firewall tab.  All I have is Antivirus, network, antispam, identity safe, task settings, and administrative settings.  Checked network as it seemed to be a possibility but nothing there.

Running windows 7. norton antivirus22.12.0.104.

Re: no norton firewall tab

Hello JohnOzuk

If you are running Norton Antivirus, then there is no Norton Firewall. You should have the Windows Firewall.

Re: no norton firewall tab

I suspected as much.  At the time I went to windows firewall, and it reported it was disabled because of norton's firewall.  Hence my incorrect assumption.  I went back after getting your email and windows now reports it's firewall is up and happy, and as indicated message gone.  Perhaps a windows issue?

Norton did take a longer time to startup when the problem happened.  Perhaps that was the cause.  Norton did also push out a patch today.  I'll just whistle in the graveyard and pretend all is well.

Will probably just give your answer a helped because still not sure what the issue was.  However thanks for your prompt and on point reply.

,Hello John

Glad I could be of some help. You are very welcome. Thanks for giving us your feedback. As long as your Norton Icon in the Task Bar has a Green checkmark, then your Norton is working ok.

Thanks.
