No VPN service for months . . numerous fixes tried . . .

I have not been able to turn on Norton VPN for several months.  I have tried various solutions including uninstalling then reinstalling Norton 360 numerous times.  I can only assume there is something blocking this part of the Norton package since every other part of the product works.  Anyone have any fixes?  I am not particularly tech savvy although I my son is so if it requires fixing a registry or wlan setting or something, I'll have him do it . . .

BTW, it works on all of my other devices and I no longer get the error message that says to try later . . .it just says I am unprotected . . .

Hello Golfer62. What device is having the issue, what OS and its version do you have running? What Norton product(s) do you have installed? And do you have ANY OTHER security software installed or loading at boot up? Thanks in advance for the information.

Don't hold your breath! I have the same issue and have been calling tech support who keep saying they will escalate and call me back in 24 hours. Its been weeks!! I have been in the IT field for 10 years and have never experienced such bad technical support & client experience!!!

Here is a fix on Windows 10:

Rename the following registry key: (DisabledComponents)

IN

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters

For good measure - I also disabled IPv6 on all network cards (can be done via cmd or powershell)

My Internet seems a bit slow after that but that might just be unrelated.

**NB** Always backup your registry before making any changes***
