Norton 22.10 - Norton UI spacing issues and blurriness

Well, this is what I found right after update to the newest version of Norton 22.10.0.83. I will post more bugs if I find something else.

1. The procent icon glued to "Norton", there should be a space like with "System".

2. The icons in Norton Insight seem to be oversized and flattened.

3. Also I noticed that when you point coursor on the icons of sections/options the animation is a bit slower and not as smooth as it was with previous version of Norton. (I compared this with my other PC which hasn't been updated yet)

1. I tried to CPU Usage: for Norton is displayed correctly for me. Could you please check again?

2. App icons in Norton Insight seem to be oversized and flattened: I will report this one to team.

Hello @Sunil_GA

Well, I just updated my all devices to the 22.10 version of Norton (2 PC,  2 laptops and tablet) and I notice the same bug with CPU Usage for Norton. I got it on all devices.

Maybe this issue is only displayed in non English user versions of Norton. I'm personally using Polish version. Maybe someone else with non English version will post here if this issue exist...

And did you run Liveupdate a couple of extra times with restarts between to ensure Norton is fully updated?

I can reproduce that non-uniform icon size here on my machine too. I am using English version of Norton Security

Well, If we do not ask, we do not know.

IIRC, you have had other GUI display issues in the past. It is possible that any translation to other than English seems to muddle some graphics items. I have no knowledge of how the coding would be done for language translations.

And It looks like the coding for non English users is not that simple because for example we still don't have "In-product search" feature originally introduced in 22.9 version of Norton which I believe it was in January.

Have just the same as got3n wrote. All three issues. Norton becomes worse with each new version (my opinion).

Ran updates one additional time and rebooted after the updates. Fixed the percent icon spacing issue.

@SoulAsylum man, you have the English version on Norton which I believe doesn't had this issue. The problem with that only exist with non English versions and hasn't been fixed yet. I sill see all three bugs that I posted here.

I now have the updated 22.10.0.83 and followed up with 2 or 3 live updates. N360 seems to be working but it does take a long time to implement an update. For example this morning there were 4 updates and it was much slower than it used to be to do just 4 updates. The update data is downloaded in a flash but it is the time to process the update that is slower - I can get a window that shows all 3 stages green (check for updates, download updates, process updates) but it hangs on for quite a while after it says "process updates completed" before it finally says "LiveUpdate finished". Anyone else experienced this ?

I've noticed this too...manual updates take a lot longer than they did before the 22.10.0.83 update.

@got3n & @securejoe Indeed I have the English version and things seem to have cleaned themselves up with the 4 updates presented this morning. @securejoe, when I initially upgraded to the new version the laptop I am presently using actually locked in a loop if you will while completing the install of the update. Manually powering down and subsequent reboot brought things back to normal. There was one update afterwards which cleared the spacing issue as noted before. Updates installed this morning quickly and without any issues. When running my insight scan under startup items the scan hangs. Refreshing brings up the results normally so this seems to be yet another bug in the English version.

The delay after updates completed and LiveUpdate finished has always been there. I can only suggest that the LiveUpdate process is doing some cleanup after the update, before showing the final 'Finished' status.

This last update taking longer is somewhat understandable, because the updates are processing an update to the main product, not just the usual definition updates.

Another bug I am discussing here, which as far as my research suggests is a MOBILE ONLY feature. Yet I do not see it on my mobile device which has Norton installed but AM seeing it randomly popup on my laptop. I have never seen this before the last product update. Interesting to say the least but has now become a serious nuisance.

Although, I do not seem to be able to get the new feature to work. Maybe it did not make it into the released version. Are you on EAP program?

I have the Peek feature on my laptop running W10. I did the Ctrl-Alt-P and it works on Edge and Firefox. It shows a Norton icon on taskbar and I close it from that.

Thanks for pointing out the Ctrl-Alt-P. I had not read through the entire thread SoulAsylum linked to.

It does work for me in FF, but does not seem to work in Chrome. The Peek box appears at the top of the browser, but nothing seems to happen.

Also I want to remind about another 3 GUI bugs. I wrote about them some months ago but nothing has been done so far to fix them. 

1) Loading bar in Insight Scan looks broken:

2) One "configure" button in Firewall General Settings (responsible for Network Cost Awareness) moved right again after 22.10 update:

3) Part of "Identity Protection" text is not available for clicking in Russian location:

These bugs exists from the first build of 22.9, so please move them to hot issues and fix it finnaly.

I just received 22.10.0.85 patch via LiveUpdate and I can confirm that the issues with GUI hasn't been fixed yet.

That's correct; Norton Security 22.10.0.85 does not contain fixes for the UI issues on this thread. Our team continues to work on these issues, and we hope to resolve them quickly in a future release.

Up. Only 1 issue was fixed with latest update (22.10.1.10). When other things will be fixed? UPD. Second issue from the first message here was fixed too. Icons in File Insight finally looks fine.
